I did recheck the box Place volume icon in the taskbar as it was already checked, but the volume icon is still missing. To revert back to the older style, the first thing you’ll need to do is right-click on any open area of the taskbar and choose Properties from the menu. Volume Control icon is sill missing in windows XP Taskbar.
